High Country Recovery Counselling Service is a non-profit charitable agency that
was incorporated in January of 2005 and received it's charitable status in
January of 2006.
We are at this point a group of hard working volunteers with a Board of
Directors, a vision and a sense of pride to be in the helping field.
High Country would like to, in the area of long term goals be able to operate
and sustain a long term residential recovery centre. Along with this 6 month
treatment centre we would like to incorporate a wilderness component that would
allow the client to discover a sense of spirituality and freedom he or she can
maintain for a life time. Our clients wilkl come from all over western Canada as
well as the far north. We hope to attract clients from all walks of life who
want to make a change in thier life. We expect clients from B.C., Alberta to
make up the largest portion of our groups.
Our counselling service is in a professional building in the city of Spruce
Grove, Alberta. This allows us to assist our clients in a much more efficient
manner and offer a comfortable surrounding conducive to safety and healing. We
also do our grant proposal writing and networking form this head office.

of which is a volunteer recruitment program where we are always looking for and
welcoming any persons in the community or area who are interested in assisting
high Country move along towards it's next goal of a treatment centre.
We offer solution based counseling services and motivation interviewing
techniques to help our clients right from the onset. High Country offers
assessment and referrals to sources which fit for our clients and we hope to
always do this in a very timely fashion.
Drugs and Alcohol are a huge problem in this province and High Country is here
to help make a difference. We also enjoy working with those persons who have
issues with relationships, anger, grief and loss as well as depression and
anxiety. At the moment High Country has a very qualified addictions worker on
staff as well as a Registered Social Worker. This allows us to be able to work
in a variety of areas for our clients, in a safe and healing environment.
